How we review and compare operators

Every brand on the site is assessed the same way so the comparison stays fair. Here is what we look at and how the scores come together.

The areas we assess

For each operator we work through a consistent checklist rather than relying on first impressions:

  • Terms transparency — whether wagering requirements, time limits and game weightings are easy to find and written clearly.
  • Offer clarity — whether what’s on the table is explained in plain language rather than buried in the small print.
  • Payments and withdrawals — the methods available and whether processing times are stated up front.
  • Site usability — how easy the lobby is to navigate on desktop, including search and filtering.
  • Mobile experience — performance and layout on a phone, and whether a dedicated app exists.
  • Game variety — the spread of slots, table games and live dealer titles.
  • Responsible gambling visibility — how easy it is to find and set deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion.

How scores are formed

Scores are editorial comparison ratings out of 10, set by our review team across the areas we check. They are our opinion, not an official or regulatory rating, and they are reviewed periodically.

We weigh up the areas above and settle on a single editorial figure out of 10. It is a considered opinion from people who have spent time on the site, not a precise measurement. Because brands differ, scores differ — we don’t award the same number to everyone, and we update a score if a site changes in a way that matters.

What a score does not mean

A score is a comparison aid, nothing more. It is not an official or regulatory rating, it is not an endorsement, and it never implies a guaranteed outcome, payout or approval. A higher score does not make gambling any less risky.

Keeping reviews independent

We may have commercial arrangements with some operators, but those are kept separate from the review itself, as explained in our Affiliate Disclosure. We raise the same points and apply the same checklist regardless of any commercial link.
