Reading a comparison without the noise
A short, practical guide to getting the most out of our reviews — what the score means, how to read the badges, and the checks worth doing yourself before registering.
Start with the terms, not the headline
The most useful thing about any casino offer is usually the small print. Before anything else, we look at how a promotion actually works: the wagering requirement, how long you have to meet it, which games count towards it, and any maximum cashout. A clearly written set of terms tells you far more than a big number on the homepage.
What the editorial score means
Each brand gets a single score out of 10. It reflects how the operator performed across the areas we check — terms, payments, usability, mobile, game range and safer gambling tools. It’s a comparison aid and our honest opinion, not an official rating, and it never implies you’ll come out ahead. Two brands can sit close together and still suit different people. The full method is on our Editorial Review Policy page.
How to read the badges
Badges are quick signposts, not promises. “UK licensed” points to where an operator is regulated; “Live dealer” or “Slots heavy” describe the kind of lobby you’ll find; “Clear T&Cs” reflects how readable we found the terms. Use them to shortlist, then dig into the review note for the detail.
Match the brand to how you actually play
A table-game regular and a casual slots player want different things. If you mostly spin slots, the size and organisation of the slots library matters more than the number of live tables. If you value fast cashouts, weigh the payment methods and the stated withdrawal times. Our notes try to flag who each site tends to suit.
Do these checks yourself before signing up
- Confirm the operator is licensed for the UK market.
- Read the current promotion terms on the operator’s own site.
- Check the deposit and withdrawal methods you actually use are supported.
- Find the deposit-limit and self-exclusion settings before you play.
- Make sure you’re comfortable with the identity checks involved.
Remember what we are
We’re an independent comparison site, not a casino operator, and we may earn a commission if you visit an operator through our links. That keeps the site free, but it doesn’t shape our scores. Whatever you decide, gamble responsibly and only with money you can afford to lose — see our Responsible Gambling page for support.
